Pitch your innovative minerals processing solutions to Indian mining and industrial organisations.
This opportunity is delivered through the Global Mining Challenge India (GMCI) program, supported by the Australian Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR).
Companies with a successful submission will be invited to an online pitch session to present their technologies directly to major Indian organisations, such as Vedanta Resources, Hindalco Industries Limited and Tata Steel.
As India expands manufacturing capabilities and accelerates infrastructure development, there is growing pressure to efficiently discover, extract and process minerals to fuel this growth.
India has recognised major opportunities to unlock new mineral deposits and has established the National Critical Minerals Mission (NCMM) to oversee this strategic priority. However, there are significant challenges to efficiently and economically process these resources, including:
- Mineral grades are deteriorating or becoming more geologically complex, making traditional processing methods less effective and costly.
- ESG compliance is increasing in importance for the Indian mining industry, placing pressure on operators to develop more sustainable processing and refining techniques.
- India has traditionally imported large quantities of processed minerals. As they develop supply chains for EVs and clean energy, expertise and capabilities will need to be transferred into the market.
- Many existing processing plants operate with traditional technologies and infrastructure, leading to low recovery rates, high energy usage, and inefficiencies.
Austmine is inviting Australian METS companies with advanced minerals processing solutions to apply to participate in this upcoming online pitch opportunity.
Solutions may include, but are not limited to:
- Emerging processing methodologies, technologies and solutions to effectively unlock new critical minerals deposits.
- Cleaner, water-efficient, and less polluting processing solutions to reduce the environmental footprint of operations.
- Advanced beneficiation, separation, and refining technologies that can extract value efficiently and reduce waste.
- Digital technologies and advanced sensing techniques to measure and analyse ore profile and material composition during minerals separation and processing phases.
- Reprocessing of mine waste and tailings, along with the recycling of materials, to unlock additional value from existing operations and support circular economy initiatives.
This opportunity is open to any Australian company with a registered Australian Business Number.
Phase 1 - Submission Period
Companies are invited to submit a short-form solution overview by Friday 18 July 2025 for evaluation by Austmine and our partners.
The solution submission questions can be viewed here.
A shortlisting process takes place, and successful companies are invited to participate in the pitch session.
Phase 2 - Pitch Session
Successful companies will pitch their solutions directly to our panel of Indian mining organisations online via Teams. This provides the opportunity to ‘sell’ your solution, gain feedback from operational teams and field questions about the solution.
Phase 3 - Follow up
Following the Pitch Session, Austmine will connect companies with any mining organisations that have requested further information or follow-up conversations about your solution. You will receive support from Austmine and our in-market representative to keep the conversations progressing.
